Jason Gillespie Alleges PCB for Not Paying his Dues

In the latest development involving international cricket, former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie has taken legal action against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) by approaching the International Cricket Council (ICC) over unpaid dues. Gillespie, who was appointed as Pakistan’s Test head coach in April 2024 on a two-year contract, stepped down from his position in December of the same year. He was later replaced by Aaqib Javed.
Under his brief tenure, Pakistan suffered a heavy loss to England in the first Test but bounced back to win the series 2-1. Gillespie also led the team to an ODI series win against Australia but lost the T20I leg. Despite these accomplishments, the PCB and Gillespie are now entangled in a financial dispute. Gillespie claims that the board failed to pay him performance-related bonuses and other dues. In response, PCB has accused him of breaching contract terms by not serving a mandatory four-month notice.
While Gillespie has asked the ICC to intervene, it’s unclear if the governing body holds the authority to mediate such disputes. The PCB has publicly refuted all claims, stating Gillespie left abruptly and violated contract terms. The case remains unresolved as of now.
