The Legends League Cricket keeps delivering drama, and the 11th match between the India Captains and the Royal Riders Punjab has all the makings of a proper match. It’s scheduled for March 23 at 7:30 PM IST at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun. India’s captains have been having a rough ride so far. Just one win in four games puts them at the bottom, and that recent four-wicket defeat to India Tigers didn’t help.

With only a couple of league matches remaining, they’re staring down the barrel: win or wave goodbye to any playoff hopes. But credit where it’s due, as Ritik Sharma has been their best player with the bat, notching 68 runs from two innings at 34. In the last outing, Mizba Alam and Sanyam Arora showed some spine with contributions, and Aniruddha Joshi grabbed a couple of wickets. They just need everyone to fire together for once. Royal Riders Punjab look far steadier.

Two wins and two losses from four games keep them in the top three, and that confident four-wicket victory over Mumbai Spartans has them buzzing. Mohammad Shahzad is the batting glue, 143 runs in four innings at 35.75, and Thisara Perera has chipped in nicely with 85 runs across his knocks. The real story, though, is their bowling as Angelo Perera is tearing it up with six wickets at a ridiculous average of 7.11.

Dehradun’s track has a story to tell too, as with six T20s played, four won by the side batting first. First innings average is around 177, second innings drops to about 151. It starts flat and good for batting, but things tighten up later as chasing could be a grind. Weather-wise, there is only a 30% rain chance, cloudy, 11-20°C, and moderate winds. Clearly, India’s captains are fighting for survival and need a big performance to spark a turnaround. Royal Riders Punjab want to lock in that upper-table spot and keep the momentum rolling.
