IND vs NZ | Skipper Rohit Sharma’s Angry Reaction Goes Viral as KL Rahul Drops Easy Catch, Watch Video!
As India battled out their day in Bengaluru with a poor display of batting, the bowling and fielding didn’t turn out to be fruitful either. Renowned batter KL Rahul dropped an easy catch, triggering an angry reaction from the skipper.
India captain Rohit Sharma had a frustrating day as New Zealand dominated them in every department on the first day of the 1st Test in Bengaluru. After choosing to bat, India crumbled to an all-time low home total of 46, with Matt Henry and William O’Rourke wreaking havoc, taking five and four wickets respectively. To add to India’s woes, they were sloppy in the field as New Zealand’s batters piled on quick runs. India’s bowlers struggled with the new ball, and when chances finally came, the fielders couldn’t seize them, compounding an already difficult day for the hosts.
Captain Rohit Sharma Gets Angry
In the 13th over, New Zealand captain Tom Latham got a fortunate break when an inside edge off Mohammed Siraj flew between first and second slip after bouncing away from him. With Virat Kohli at first slip and KL Rahul at second, neither player made a move for the ball.
Replays confirmed it was Rahul’s catch to take, but he hesitated, letting the ball race to the boundary. Rohit Sharma, clearly frustrated, threw his arms up in disbelief, while Siraj also looked visibly annoyed by the missed opportunity.
IND vs NZ Test Match So Far
Fast bowlers Matt Henry and William O’Rourke dismantled India in just 31.2 overs during the second session after the hosts chose to bat under overcast skies. Following a washed-out first day, India collapsed to their third-lowest Test score ever, scoring just 46 runs. Their previous home low was 75, set against the West Indies in 1987.
India’s all-time lowest Test score remains 36, recorded against Australia in the 2020 Adelaide pink-ball Test. They also fell for 42 against England at Lord’s in 1974. Henry capped off the innings with a five-wicket haul, marking his 100th Test wicket with the dismissal of Kuldeep Yadav.
