IND vs NZ: New Zealand Leads by 301, Closer to Series Win
New Zealand continued its dominance with both bat and ball, as the team had established a lead of 301 runs by the end of Day 2. Glenn Phillips and Tom Blundell are currently not out for the team, as they have scored 198 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 53 overs.
Tom Latham, the captain of the Black Caps, scored an impressive half-century for the team, as Indian spinners, Ashwin and Washington Sundar were able to take wickets yet again. Washington Sundar has taken 4 wickets in this innings also, marking his first 10 wicket haul in a Test match.
Although this match helped Sundar to mark a record for himself, it may also be one for India to forget. During the start of the day, India looked dominant as Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal started off. However, things turned as Mitchell Santner took 7 wickets of the team, dismissing crucial batsmen like Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Sarfaraz Khan, and others.
As a result, India got all out at the score of 156, allowing New Zealand to start off their innings with a 103 runs lead. The Kiwis have been able to take this opportunity well, but Indian bowlers have also been giving constant fightback. As the third day approaches, New Zealand is likely to declare their innings, giving 300+ target for the Indian team to chase.
