Former India Star Hints at MS Dhoni for Dropping Him “At His Peak”
Former Indian batsman Manoj Tiwary indirectly talked about MS Dhoni, dropping him from the team when he was at his peak form. Tiwary scored a century in the ODI against West Indies in 2011, but was dropped just from the next game for 8 months.
Former batsman of the Indian cricket team Manoj Tiwary talked about the time when he was at the best form in his career but still dropped from the national side. In the year 2011, Tiwary was able to score a century against West Indies in an ODI game but due to some unknown reasons, he had been rested for the next game.
Although he was able to make his comeback to the team, it was 8 months after the match when he scored a century. This affected his momentum and form to a great extent. While talking about this incident, he also indirectly talked about the Captain Cool MS Dhoni, saying that if any captain is dropping the player in his peak time, the confidence of them is totally crushed.
In an interview, Manoj Tiwary said,
See, it happened a long time ago. It’s a matter of the past, but yes, dukh to hota hi hai (It was sad). I would lie if I said it wasn’t saddening. What can we do? It’s life; but it needs to move forward. If I am to write my autobiography or I do a podcast of my own, I will reveal it all. But it wasn’t easy. When a player is at his peak, when his confidence is crushed, it causes a change in mindset.
He also appreciated the bowling skills of Akash Deep, who recently made his debut for the Indian cricket team in the Test match against England. Tiwary said that Akash Deep could be a valuable asset for the team even in overseas conditions, due to the abilities he holds with the ball.
