Australia vs Pakistan: Australia Reveals T20 Squad for Pakistan Series, Captain Still Unannounced
Cricket Australia has named a 13-member squad for the three-match T20 series against Pakistan. While the team features several talented players, the captain has not yet been announced. Fans eagerly await the decision as the series approaches.
The three-match T20 series against Pakistan will commence on November 14 in Australia, with Cricket Australia officially announcing the squad. In the absence of regular captain Mitchell Marsh, who is rested before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, a new captain will lead the team for this series.
The squad includes fast bowlers Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis, and Spencer Johnson, who will complement experienced players like Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa, and Josh Inglis in the batting lineup. With regular members Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh unavailable, the team faces challenges in appointing a captain for the T20 series against Pakistan. The absence of these key players adds pressure on the remaining squad members as they prepare for the upcoming matches starting November 14 in Australia.

During a recent meeting, Australia’s selector George Bailey stated that the absence of key players has led to the introduction of a young squad for the upcoming series against Pakistan.
“This group of players have all represented Australia in T20 cricket, so we look forward to them continuing to enhance their international experience throughout this series. We are excited by the mix of experience combined with those closer to the start of their international journeys.”
Australia has performed well against Pakistan in T20 matches on home soil, winning three out of four games, with one match called off because of rain.
