Rohit Sharma Honoured With a Stand at Wankhede Stadium on 13th May 2025
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) will inaugurate the Rohit Sharma Stand at Wankhede Stadium on May 13, 2025. The Divecha Pavilion Level 3 is being renamed to honour Rohit’s leadership in India’s 2024 T20 World Cup and 2025 Champions Trophy wins. Ajit Wadekar and Sharad Pawar will also receive stand dedications.

On the occasion of Rohit Sharma’s recent 38th birthday and in recognition of his stellar contributions to Indian cricket, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has decided to honour him with a dedicated stand at the Wankhede Stadium. The inauguration of the “Rohit Sharma Stand” is scheduled for May 13, 2025. This announcement follows India’s back-to-back ICC triumphs under Rohit’s captaincy – the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy. The Level 3 Divecha Pavilion at Wankhede will now officially bear his name.
This distinction places Rohit among cricketing legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Vijay Merchant, and Dilip Vengsarkar, who already have stands named after them at the same venue. Expressing his gratitude, Rohit shared that the honour feels surreal and is something he never imagined when he started his cricketing journey.
Alongside Rohit, MCA will also name stands after former India captain Ajit Wadekar and former MCA chief Sharad Pawar. The Level 4 Grand Stand will be named after Wadekar, while Level 3 of the same section will become the Pawar Stand. This move by MCA recognizes both sporting excellence and administrative service, making May 13 a landmark day for Mumbai cricket.
