Former Pakistan Cricketer Compares Jasprit Bumrah to Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis

Former Pakistan cricketer, Basit Ali, compares Jasprit Bumrah with Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram, after his sensational spell against New Zealand in the first Test. Ali said that Bumrah lacks a good bowling partner, as Siraj has been leaking runs continuously in his spells.

Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the key aspects of the Indian bowling line-up, despite the team’s loss in the first test against New Zealand in Bengaluru. He helped the team to grab the much needed wickets and even maintained the economy rate throughout his spell, which played a crucial role for the Indian cricket team.

Former Pakistani cricketer, Basit Ali, praised Bumrah for his performance in the first test, comparing his skills with the greatest Pakistani bowlers Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram. Although he praised Bumrah, he also put forward some points for another fast-paced bowler for the Indian cricket team, Mohammad Siraj.

Jasprit Bumrah was able to secure 3 wickets for the team in the match against New Zealand. He even gave a sensational spell during the fifth day of the game, taking the only two wickets lost by New Zealand in the final day. However, he lacked support from the other end, as Mohammad Siraj continuously leaked runs in his spell. Basit Ali talked about this aspect and how it changed the game.

Ali Compares Bumrah with Former Pakistani Bowlers

On his YouTube channel, Basit Ali talked about the impressive spell by Jasprit Bumrah during the fifth day of the game which pressurised the Kiwis. Ali said that the spell done by Bumrah on the last day reminded him of Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram in the past.

He also continued by saying that the Indian cricket team needs two more fast bowlers who will be able to provide the needful support to Bumrah. Siraj has not been in great form lately due to which Bumrah doesn’t have a good bowling partner yet, said Basit Ali.
