Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have maintained the top spot for the IPL teams with the most wins in the current decade. Playing an impressive total of 90 matches in this decade, they have secured 50 wins and lost 40 games. Along with that, they are the only team to have reached the 50-win mark in this decade, showcasing the resurgence of RCB.

During the IPL 2020 season, which was the first in this decade, the team finished just in the playoffs at the 4th spot with 7 wins in 14 matches. Later, the team went on to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator match, but ended up losing the match by 6 wickets, which pulled them out of the tournament.

The IPL 2021 edition was just a continuation for the team in the League stage matches, as they once again made it to the playoffs by finishing 3rd in the standings with 9 wins in 14 matches. However, the team once again lost the Eliminator match, this time against the Kolkata Knight Riders by 4 wickets.

Despite their efforts in the playoffs going in vain, RCB continued its dominance in the League stages even in the 2022 edition. The team secured 8 wins in 14 matches, and this time also won the Eliminator match to reach one step closer to the finals. But they lost against the Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2, missing an opportunity to reach the finals.

After qualifying for the playoffs for consecutive seasons, RCB missed out on the same in the 2023 season, finishing 6th with 7 wins in 14 matches. But in the IPL 2024 season, the team pulled off an immense comeback by winning consecutive matches, which helped them to qualify for the playoffs, with 7 wins in 14 matches. But the team once again lost in the Eliminator, losing to the Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets.

The IPL 2025 season came to be the best for the team, as they finished 2nd in the standings with 9 wins in 14 matches, and they made an impressive record by winning every away game. Later, the team defeated Punjab Kings in the first Qualifier by 8 wickets, and the same team in the finals too by 6 runs, to win the title.

Delhi Capitals

After RCB, Delhi Capitals hold the second place for having the most wins in this decade. Having played just 89 matches since the IPL 2020 edition, the team has won 45 matches and lost the remaining 43. With RCB and DC holding the top two spots for most wins this decade, it is clear that the dominance of these teams has been unmatched.

Their performances started from the start of the decade itself, as the team finished 2nd in the standings with 8 wins in 14 matches. Later, they lost to the Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 1, but went on to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 to make their spot in the finals. However, the team lost to Mumbai again in the finals by 5 wickets, losing out on their first title chance.

Even after losing the final match, the team tried giving its best to secure its first title win, which continued in the 2021 season. This time, Delhi Capitals finished first in the standings with 10 wins in 14 matches. They went on to lose against CSK in the Qualifier 1 by 4 wickets, further losing to Kolkata Knight Riders in the Qualifier 2 by 3 wickets to end their journey in the season.

During the IPL 2022 season, Delhi Capitals tried its best to reach the tournament playoffs but fell short by just one win, as the team finished 5th with 7 wins in 14 matches. When fans thought that the team’s performances would improve in the 2023 season, it fell even further, as the team finished 9th in the standings with just 5 wins in 14 matches.

However, Delhi Capitals brought down some improvements to the team for the IPL 2024 season, as the team secured 7 wins in 14 matches. But they didn’t make it to the playoffs due to their net run rate, finishing 6th, just after the Chennai Super Kings. Even in the IPL 2025 season, DC had a strong start but couldn’t carry the momentum, due to which the team finished 5th with 7 wins in 14 matches.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders, the three-time Indian Premier League champions, have regained their form this decade, holding the third place in the list of most wins in this decade. Currently, the team holds 44 wins and 41 losses in 87 matches, as two of their games ended up without a result.

Kolkata Knight Riders did not have a good start to this decade, as the team didn’t make it to the playoffs during the IPL 2020 season, finishing 5th with 7 wins in 14 matches. But in the IPL 2021 season, it seemed that KKR was almost at the brink of winning the title, as the team qualified for the playoffs from the fourth spot with 7 wins in 14 matches.

Later, the team first went on to defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator match by 4 wickets, and Delhi Capitals in the Qualifier 2 by 2 wickets to finally make their way to another final clash. But this time, the team was not able to win the final against Chennai Super Kings, losing the game by 27 runs.

Even after a stellar performance in the IPL 2021 edition, Kolkata Knight Riders finished 7th in the next season with just 6 wins in 14 matches. In the IPL 2023 season, the team had no improvements in its performances, as the team once again finished 7th with just 6 wins in 14 matches.

Kolkata Knight Riders gained its dominance in the IPL 2024 season yet again, as the team first finished at the top of the table with 9 wins in 14 matches. Later, they secured an 8-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Qualifier 1 to reach the finals, and defeated the same team in the finals by 8 wickets to win their third IPL title.

Due to several changes in their squad for the IPL 2025 season, the Kolkata Knight Riders were not able to perform well, as the team finished with just 5 wins in 14 matches. This performance put the team down at the 8th spot in the rankings, marking it to be their worst season in this decade.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians, a team which dominated the previous decade, also holds a spot in the list of most wins this decade. Holding the 4th position in the standings, the team has also played 90 matches and secured wins in just 44 games, losing the remaining 46. However, it should be noted that the team also became the most dominant IPL team in this decade.

It all started with the IPL 2020 edition, when the Mumbai Indians finished at the top of the table with 9 wins in 14 matches. Defeating Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1 by 57 runs, the team also went on to defeat the same team in the finals by 5 wickets, which helped them to clinch their fifth IPL title.

Being the defending champions, the Mumbai Indians were not able to continue the momentum for the team during the 2021 season, as they finished 5th in the table with 7 wins in 14 matches. The IPL 2022 edition turned out to be one of the worst for the team in this decade, as they encountered losses, which put them last in the standings with just 4 wins in 14 matches.

Finally, in the IPL 2023 edition, the Mumbai Indians were able to make it to the playoffs, having secured 8 wins in 14 matches. The team first went on to assert its dominance over Lucknow SuperGiants by defeating them in the Eliminator by 81 runs. However, they lost to the Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 by 62 runs, marking an end to their journey in the 2023 season.

Mumbai Indians had a change in its captaincy, with Rohit Sharma being sacked as captain, and Hardik Pandya, who announced his return to the team, was made the new captain. This decision surely didn’t come in favour of the Mumbai Indians in the 2024 season, as the team again finished last in the rankings with 4 wins in 14 matches.

First, the team defeated the Gujarat Titans in the Eliminator match by 20 runs, and then they lost to the Punjab Kings in the Qualifier 2 match by 5 wickets, pulling them out of the tournament even after reaching close to the finals.

Chennai Super Kings

This decade might also have belonged to Chennai Super Kings, as they secured two trophies, which helped them to level Mumbai Indians for the most successful IPL team. In terms of wins, CSK holds the 5th spot in the rankings, with 42 wins in 88 matches, and the team has lost 45 of them. The start of this decade was not good for the team, as they finished 7th in IPL 2020, with 6 wins in 14 matches.
