With 342 runs, Harmanpreet Kaur finished as the highest run-getter in WPL 2026, breaking the record of all batters for runs scored. She put up outstanding averages and strike rates, significantly propelling the Mumbai Indians’ ability to post large total scores at Mid-way through their innings (2nd half of their innings). If Harmanpreet had not been in the line-up, it would have been almost impossible for the Mumbai Indians to score large amounts (Batting first or chasing) without her as their anchor.
In addition, her twelve sixes made her the player with the most sixes in the tournament. This reinforced her position as one of the most difficult/missile finishers in the WPL, as well as the fact that she provided the Mumbai Indians with confidence and explosive ability every time they needed a run increase.
Nat Sciver-Brunt was another major contributor to the success of the Mumbai Indians and finished a close 2nd to Smriti Mandhana with 321 total runs during the whole tournament, and was the only player to score 100 runs in a single match during the 2026 WPL; supporting documentation exists regarding that.
In addition to having a phenomenal year overall, Nat averaged 64+ runs per match and made 3 fifties out of her innings. She was also first overall in the number of four-hit games (48), showing her ability to make runs in an innings and have range around the field.
Though the batters took the top two spots for overall performance, the third player to really have an impact on the season was Sophie Devine. In addition to her performance with the bat, Devine was also the leading wicket-taker and winner of the Purple Cap (for taking the most wickets) in this batting-dominated league by taking 17 wickets.
Furthermore, she added to her impact by scoring 243 runs at a very aggressive strike rate and providing the Gujarat Giants with good starts. As captain, she was also a major factor in the success of her team as both a bowler and a batsman, especially during the critical stages of the game when her bowling was crucial, and her counter-attacking batting kept her team in contention.
This year’s player award considerations include that Nandni Sharma (Delhi Capitals) has taken 16 wickets, which has established her as one of the most consistent bowlers in the league. Similarly, Nadine de Klerk (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) contributed 15 wickets, but has also played an all-around game as a batsman.
In terms of batting, both Smriti Mandhana (RCB) with 290 runs and Lizelle Lee (DC) with 282 runs are making important contributions to their teams.
All three players were outstanding among all other players in influencing their performance in matches or influencing the result of many games, as these were important players in not only player performance statistics but also were extremely important players to aid their respective results to advance to the further rounds of this year’s tournament.
