When the 2025 Pakistan Super League match between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans reached the 10th over, a tense moment unfolded as Colin Munro accused Iftikhar Ahmed of suspected chucking. The left-handed batter objected to Iftikhar’s bowling action, claiming it breached the 15-degree elbow extension rule set by cricket laws. Instead of reporting the issue to the umpires, Munro confronted Iftikhar directly, resulting in an on-field exchange.
Match officials and Multan captain Mohammad Rizwan quickly intervened to calm the situation, and the game continued without delay. It remains uncertain if Iftikhar’s action will be reviewed post-match. Despite the controversy, Munro contributed a brisk 45 off 28 balls before being dismissed by Michael Bracewell, with Iftikhar ironically taking the catch. However, it was opener Andries Gous who led Islamabad to victory with a dominant unbeaten 80 off 45 balls, chasing down 169 with 17 balls to spare.
Earlier, Multan posted 168, powered by Usman Khan’s 61 off 40 and Rizwan’s slow 36. Iftikhar scored 10 runs and conceded 20 runs in two wicketless overs. The win marked Islamabad United’s fifth straight victory, keeping them unbeaten and at the top of the table. Meanwhile, Multan Sultans remain at the bottom, with only one win in five games.
