Zimbabwe vs Pakistan: Abrar Ahmed and Saim Ayub Shine in Pakistan’s Crushing Victory

Pakistan delivered a flawless performance in the second ODI against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo, securing a 10-wicket win with 190 balls to spare. Electing to field, Pakistan’s bowlers capitalized on favourable conditions, bundling out Zimbabwe for 145 in 32.3 overs.

Zimbabwe’s innings never gained momentum as wickets fell at regular intervals. Dion Myers (33) and Sean Williams (31) offered some resistance, but Abrar Ahmed’s 4/33 and Salman Agha’s 3/26 kept the hosts in check. Saim Ayub, known for his explosive batting, also chipped in with the ball, dismissing Sean Williams.

Chasing a small target of 146, Pakistan’s openers Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique put on a show. Ayub dazzled with a career-best 113*, striking 17 fours and 3 sixes at a blistering strike rate of 182.25. Shafique provided steady support with 32* off 48 balls as the duo chased the target in just 18.2 overs.

Ayub’s all-around brilliance earned him the Player of the Match award, and Pakistan’s dominance in all departments left Zimbabwe with no answers. With the series levelled, Pakistan will look to dominate in the upcoming match.
