In LSG’s recent match against Mumbai Indians on April 27 at Wankhede Stadium, Pant fell cheaply for 4 runs attempting a reverse sweep against Will Jacks, contributing to LSG’s heavy 54-run defeat. This loss dropped LSG to sixth place, while MI surged to second in the points table. Despite his batting struggles, LSG mentor Zaheer Khan firmly dismissed the idea that the pressure of Pant’s massive price tag is affecting his form. Praising Pant’s leadership qualities, Zaheer stated that Pant has been making smart captaincy decisions and remains a positive influence within the team.
Zaheer emphasized that Pant’s batting form would soon return and assured that the franchise is backing him completely.
