Yuvraj Singh Father Reveals Heart-Wrenching Moment When He Thought He Might Lose His Son

For the Indian cricket community, Yograj Singh’s recent statements about his son, Yuvraj Singh, have shed light on his immense pride and respect for his son’s dedication. Despite Yuvraj battling cancer, he played a key role in India’s 2011 World Cup victory, earning the “Player of the Series” award with 362 runs at an average of 90.50 and several crucial wickets. Yograj revealed in a podcast that he would have been proud even if Yuvraj had passed away after the World Cup, highlighting his son’s extraordinary commitment to the nation.

Yuvraj was diagnosed with lung cancer after the World Cup and underwent treatment, making a strong return to international cricket until his retirement in 2019. He said:

Despite fighting cancer, Yuvraj led India to a World Cup victory. If he had passed away after winning the World Cup for India, I, as his father, would have been proud. Even now, I take great pride in what he achieved. I conveyed this to him over a phone call. During one match in the tournament, he vomited blood. I told him then, “Don’t worry. You will win this World Cup for India”.

Additionally, Yograj Singh shared the reasons behind his split with Arjun Tendulkar, who trained under him for 12 days in 2022. According to Yograj, the split occurred due to his concern that Arjun’s success would be linked to his coaching, which ultimately led to their separation. Despite this, Arjun went on to make a significant impact, scoring a century on his first-class debut for Goa and securing an IPL contract.
