Being one of the favourites to win the IPL 2025 and currently being the table toppers of the IPL 2025, the Gujarat Titans led by Shubman Gill have been playing their best brand of cricket. The team has delivered consistent performances and kept their fans happy with results coming regularly. With 11 matches played so far, the Titans have won 8 and lost just 3, collecting 16 points and sitting firmly at the top of the table with an impressive net run rate of 0.793.
Their success has been built around strong starts from the top three batters, who have laid the foundation in most matches. Whether it’s chasing or setting a target, their top order has been reliable. At the same time, the bowling unit has stepped up when needed, keeping opponents in check and defending totals well. With some of the top performances going around, let’s see the journey of the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2025 so far.
Being led by the captain Shubman Gill, Gujarat Titans started their journey in the IPL 2025 with a mix of highs and lows. Their campaign began with a thrilling but unfortunate loss against Punjab Kings on March 25 in Ahmedabad. Despite putting up a massive 232 runs on the board, their bowlers couldn’t defend it, and PBKS chased it down with 11 runs to spare. It was a tough start, but GT showed promising intent with the bat.

However, the team bounced back strongly just four days later on March 29, also in Ahmedabad, when they faced Mumbai Indians. Gujarat Titans posted 196 runs, and their bowlers did a good job of restricting MI to 160, securing a solid 36-run win as their first of the season. Continuing the momentum, GT went on a winning spree. On April 2, they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bengaluru. Chasing a target of 170, the Titans made it look easy with a dominant 8-wicket victory. This win gave them confidence as they moved to Hyderabad for their next clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 6.
Once again, their all-round performance came through as they chased down 152 runs with 7 wickets in hand. Back home in Ahmedabad on April 9, GT faced Rajasthan Royals and delivered one of their strongest performances. They piled up 217 runs and then restricted RR to just 159, winning the game by a huge margin of 58 runs. This victory proved that the Gujarat Titans were serious contenders this season.
However, their winning streak was interrupted on April 12 when they took on Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow. Though GT put up 180 runs, it wasn’t enough, as LSG chased it down with 6 wickets remaining. It was a competitive game, but GT couldn’t hold on in the end.
Not letting the loss affect them, GT returned to winning ways on April 19 at home against Delhi Capitals. In a close contest, they chased down 204 with 7 wickets in hand.
On April 21, Gujarat Titans visited Kolkata to face KKR and dominated yet again. Their score of 198 proved too much for the Knight Riders, who were restricted to 159. GT won comfortably by 39 runs, showing their consistency. But the return clash against Rajasthan Royals on April 28 in Jaipur didn’t go their way. Despite putting up a strong 209 runs, the bowlers couldn’t contain RR, who chased it down with 8 wickets in hand. Still, GT didn’t let the defeat shake them. On May 2, back in Ahmedabad, they played Sunrisers Hyderabad and came out victorious again, this time by 38 runs after scoring an imposing 224.
Finally, on May 6, GT faced Mumbai Indians again and this time at the Wankhede. In a rain-affected game decided by the DLS method, Gujarat Titans managed to chase down the adjusted target and won by 3 wickets, marking their second win over MI in the season. So far, Gujarat Titans have shown solid form with 8 wins from 11 matches. With strong performances from both their batsmen and bowlers, they remain one of the top contenders in IPL 2025.
For the Gujarat Titans, the trio of top 3 batsmen, Shubman Gill, B Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler have been the backbone of their success in IPL 2025. All three have crossed the 500-run mark in just 11 innings, delivering consistent starts and match-winning performances. B Sai Sudharsan has scored 509 runs at an impressive average of 46.27 and a strike rate of 153.31, smashing 56 fours and 16 sixes. Shubman Gill, leading from the front, has piled up 508 runs at an average of 50.80 and a strike rate of 152.55, with five half-centuries and a best of 90.
Jos Buttler, with 500 runs and a superb strike rate of 163.93, has played the role of aggressor, notching up five fifties and hitting 22 sixes. In the bowling department, Prasidh Krishna has been the standout performer with 20 wickets in 11 matches, boasting an excellent average of 16.45 and a strike rate of 12.9. R Sai Kishore has chipped in with 14 wickets at an economy of 8.37, while Mohammed Siraj has claimed 15 wickets with best figures of 4 for 17. Together, these players have kept Gujarat Titans at the top of the points table with their all-round brilliance.
Considering the upcoming matches of the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2025, the table-topping side will look to continue their dominant form and seal a spot in the playoffs. With 8 wins in 11 matches and 16 points already in the bag, Gujarat need just one more victory from their next three games to officially qualify for the playoffs. Their final stretch begins on Sunday, 18 May, with an away clash against the Delhi Capitals in Delhi.
Following that, they return to their home ground in Ahmedabad for back-to-back matches. On Thursday, 22 May, they will face Lucknow Super Giants, a team looking to break into the top half of the table. Then on Sunday, 25 May, they will play their last league match against Chennai Super Kings in a highly anticipated afternoon fixture. These matches provide Gujarat a golden chance to not only qualify but also secure a top-two finish, which offers an extra opportunity in the playoffs.
