After winning their IPL 2025 match against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) kept their unbeaten away record intact with a dominant nine-wicket victory. Chasing 174, RCB openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli starred with half-centuries. Salt smashed 65 off 33 balls, while Kohli remained unbeaten on 62 from 45. Devdutt Padikkal also contributed with 40* as RCB cruised to the target. The team has now won four out of their six matches, all on the road, and currently sits third on the points table.
The celebratory mood in the RCB dressing room led to a light-hearted moment when recruit Tim David played a prank on Kohli by hiding one of his seven bats. In a video shared by the franchise, David explained the plan to see how long Kohli would take to notice. Kohli eventually discovered the missing bat in David’s kitbag, leading to a good-natured exchange.
Kohli has had a strong start to the season, scoring 248 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 143.35, including three fifties and an average of 62. RCB will next face Punjab Kings at home, hoping to improve their record there after losing both previous home games.
