After being the emotional core of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Virat Kohli displayed visible frustration during match 20 of IPL 2025 against the Mumbai Indians when a miscommunication between Jitesh Sharma and Yash Dayal allowed Suryakumar Yadav a lifeline. The mix-up occurred in the 12th over as both players collided while going for a straightforward catch, prompting Kohli to throw his cap in anger from the boundary.
Despite the error, Suryakumar was dismissed on the last ball of the same over after scoring 28 off 26 balls. RCB, however, overcame the blunder and secured a 12-run win over MI at Wankhede, marking their first victory at the venue in 10 years. Virat Kohli led the charge with a 67 off 42 balls, while captain Rajat Patidar struck 64 off 32. Jitesh Sharma made amends with a quickfire unbeaten 40 off 19 balls as RCB posted a massive 221/5.
In response, MI put up a spirited fight, with Tilak Varma scoring 56 off 29 and Hardik Pandya smashing 42 off 15, but they fell short, finishing at 209/9. The win marked RCB’s third of the season and revived their campaign, with Kohli and Patidar stepping up as the key performers.
