Venkatesh Iyer Injured in Ranji Trophy: A Setback for KKR

Venkatesh Iyer, the all-rounder of Madhya Pradesh, recently suffered an ankle injury in the Ranji Trophy match against Kerala, which is being played at the Greenfield Stadium. The injury looked to be serious as Iyer was seen limping off the field and the pain was visible.

The match started with Kerala winning the toss and sending Madhya Pradesh to bat first. It didn’t take much time for them to put Madhya Pradesh batters in a challenging spot, as the team lost four wickets quickly at the score of 50. Venkatesh Iyer stepped onto the field replacing Harpreet Singh Bhatia but he did not last long.

Facing his third delivery, Iyer twisted his ankle and was sent off back to the dressing room due to his ankle injury. It is being reported that this injury could take up to one to six weeks for Iyer to recover and there’s still hope for his participation in the upcoming IPL season for Kolkata Knight Riders.

The tournament is set to begin on 21st March and it is likely for Venkatesh Iyer to be a part of the team in its opening match at the Eden Gardens. Fans will also keep an eye on his injury status and return to the Indian Premier League.
