The young stars of the Indian team, Tilak Varma and Riyan Parag, were recently caught in a heated exchange during a net session. The incident began lightheartedly when Tilak jokingly boasted about getting Nicholas Pooran’s wicket in the IPL.
However, Parag responded with a remark about Tilak’s team losing the game, which upset Tilak and led to a fiery confrontation between the two. The video, which has resurfaced, was filmed during the India-Bangladesh home series.
Tilak Varma, who has been performing consistently for Mumbai Indians, was included in the India T20I squad for the England series. In contrast, Riyan Parag, who showed promise with Rajasthan Royals, was left out. This exclusion came despite Parag’s solid performances in recent IPL seasons, particularly in 2024 when he had his best campaign yet.
Tilak’s remarkable performances, including two centuries in the T20I series against South Africa, have elevated his standing in Indian cricket, making him a key player for the national team. On the other hand, Parag, despite decent outings, has not made the same impact at the international level and was not selected for the T20I squad.
