For the second ODI between India and England, which will be held on February 9th, 2025, at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha, security measures have been intensified due to concerns over potential chaos. The local authorities, in collaboration with the Odisha Cricket Association, police, and health departments, have planned for comprehensive security and logistics. Cuttack’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jagmohan Meena, stated that entry and exit points for spectators will be managed through four designated gates, ensuring a smooth flow of attendees.
Additionally, special bus services will be available for fans, operating from key locations such as Cuttack’s Netaji Bus Terminal, Trishulia, and the railway station. The district health department will deploy ambulances and medical teams for emergencies, while food safety officers will oversee hygiene standards at the event.
In anticipation of a large crowd, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation will also focus on beautification, sanitation, and fogging operations around the stadium. Recent reports have highlighted the intense demand for tickets, with nearly 15 individuals injured in ticket-related incidents, further emphasizing the need for stringent safety measures for the game.
