With the spotlight on Rohit Sharma’s form and fitness, former cricketer Yograj Singh, father of Yuvraj Singh, has claimed he could transform Rohit if appointed as India’s coach. Speaking on the Find a Way podcast, Yograj asserted that he would make Rohit run 20 km daily and encourage him to play Ranji Trophy to regain his touch. He defended both Rohit and Virat Kohli, emphasizing that players of their caliber should be supported, not dropped.
Rohit’s struggles have been evident, scoring just 164 Test runs between September 2024 and January 2025, including a poor Australia tour where he managed only 31 runs in five innings. Despite an ODI century against England and a match-winning knock in the Champions Trophy final versus New Zealand, his inconsistency persists. His four-ball duck against CSK in IPL 2025 has raised concerns for Mumbai Indians as they prepare for their next match in Ahmedabad.
