As the IPL 2025 season heats up, Dewald Brevis has sparked speculation about a possible mid-season move to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after posting a blank yellow image on Instagram. Brevis, who went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction after being released by Mumbai Indians, recently signed with Hampshire Cricket for the T20 Vitality Blast.
With CSK struggling this season, just two wins from seven matches and five consecutive losses, his inclusion could provide a much-needed boost, especially after skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad’s injury. Now led by MS Dhoni, CSK managed to beat Lucknow Super Giants in their last game.
Brevis, known as “Baby AB”, was the second-highest scorer in the 2025 SA20 League with 291 runs and has 1787 T20 runs at a strike rate of 144.93 from 81 matches. The 21-year-old already boasts one century and seven fifties in the format. CSK next face Mumbai Indians on April 20, and Brevis’ potential debut could add an exciting twist.
