In the Champions Trophy 2025 final, Shreyas Iyer played a crucial role in India’s four-wicket victory over New Zealand in Dubai. Walking in at 106/2 after Virat Kohli’s dismissal, Iyer anchored the innings with a composed 48 off 62 balls, helping India chase down 252 with six balls to spare. His innings, featuring two sixes, were instrumental in stabilizing India’s chase after a mini-collapse.
However, it was his post-match celebration that caught everyone’s attention. Iyer recreated Virat Kohli’s famous Gangnam Style dance from 2013 but added a Bhangra twist, leaving his teammates in splits. New Zealand’s total of 251/7, led by Daryl Mitchell’s 63 and Michael Bracewell’s quickfire finish, seemed competitive, but India’s spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy kept them in check. Eventually, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja guided India to victory.
