For the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pat Cummins has raised concerns about India gaining an unfair advantage by playing all their matches in Dubai. India, having already defeated Bangladesh and Pakistan, is on the verge of securing a semi-final spot. Cummins highlighted that India’s refusal to play in Pakistan due to security concerns led to a hybrid format, allowing them to stay in familiar conditions throughout the tournament.
He stated, “It gives them a huge advantage playing on the same ground”. While Cummins skipped the tournament for personal reasons, including the birth of his second child and ankle rehab, he confirmed his return for IPL 2025, where he will lead Sunrisers Hyderabad after guiding them to the final last season. His comeback will significantly boost SRH as they aim to clinch the title this time.
