In the game of IPL 2025, Virat Kohli has once again proven why he remains a pillar for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Batting fluently and selflessly, Kohli has not only amassed runs but also played second fiddle when needed, prioritizing the team’s success. In an interview, Kohli dismissed talks of ego, citing examples like letting Shreyas Iyer take charge during the ICC Champions Trophy. “It was never about ego. It’s always about the game situation”, he said.
Kohli also reflected on his early RCB days, sharing how limited top-order chances initially held him back. However, by 2009, he started finding rhythm, and from 2010 onward, his consistency earned him the No. 3 spot, which he cemented by 2011. Kohli credited dressing room legends like Dravid and Kallis for his growth, admitting their presence initially made him question his readiness. His journey, built on patience and adaptability, is now inspiring RCB’s stellar IPL 2025 campaign.
