Rajasthan Royals (RR) suffered their fifth consecutive defeat in IPL 2025, losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 11 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Chasing a target of 206, RR ended at 194/9, equaling their worst-ever losing streak. With just two wins from nine games, they now sit eighth on the points table.
Following the match, a viral video showed RR CEO Jake Lush McCrum walking towards Bengaluru’s upscale Tonique liquor store, reflecting the growing frustration around the team.
On the field, RCB got off to a flying start with Virat Kohli (70 off 42) and Phil Salt (26) adding 61 runs. Kohli then stitched a 95-run stand with Devdutt Padikkal, who scored 50 off 27 balls. Tim David and Jitesh Sharma’s late cameos lifted RCB to a competitive 206.
For RR, Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a blazing start with 49 off 19, supported by Vaibhav Suryavanshi (16). However, middle-order failures from Nitesh Rana (28), Riyan Parag (22), and Hetmyer (11) stalled momentum. Dhruv Jurel kept hopes alive with 47 off 34, but Josh Hazlewood’s brilliant 19th over, taking 2 wickets and conceding just 1 run, sealed the win for RCB. Hazlewood finished with figures of 4/33 and was named Player of the Match.
