Rohit Sharma Leads India’s Champions Trophy Preparations Amid Training in Dubai

In the lead-up to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian cricket team is undergoing intensive training at the ICC Cricket Academy in Dubai. Ahead of their first match on February 20 against Bangladesh, captain Rohit Sharma was seen interacting with local fast bowler Awais Khan, who impressed him with inswinging yorkers. India, placed in Group A alongside Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand, is aiming for its third Champions Trophy title.

Rohit Sharma, 37, is looking to replicate his stellar performances from the 2023 ODI World Cup and 2024 T20 World Cup. After struggling in Test matches last year, he bounced back with a century (119 off 90 balls) in an ODI against England, helping India chase down 305 runs. His form will be crucial for India’s chances in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has made a U-turn on its previous decision regarding player families. Initially, families were not allowed to go on the UAE tour, but now, players can have them present for one match at their own expense. Additionally, new BCCI travel guidelines limit each player’s luggage to 150 kg, following an instance where an Indian cricketer reportedly carried 27 bags during the Australia tour.
