In the Ranji Trophy 2025 final in Nagpur, Vidarbha holds a slight advantage over Kerala after the third day of play. Vidarbha posted a strong first-innings total of 379, led by Danish Malewar’s brilliant 153 off 285 balls, which included 15 fours and three sixes. Karun Nair also played a crucial role, scoring 86 off 188. The Kerala bowling attack, led by MD Nidheesh (3/61) and Eden Apple Tom (3/102), managed to restrict Vidarbha, with support from Nedumankuzhy Basil (2/60).
In response, Kerala fought hard but fell 37 runs short, getting bowled out for 342 in 125 overs. Sachin Baby was their standout performer with a patient 98 off 235 balls, falling just short of a century. Aditya Sarwate contributed a vital 79, while Mohammed Azharuddeen (34) and Ahammed Imran (37) provided useful runs. Vidarbha’s bowlers kept the pressure on, with Darshan Nalkande (3/52) and Harsh Dubey (3/88) taking key wickets.
As Kerala trails by 37 runs, the match remains finely balanced heading into Day 4. Vidarbha will look to build a solid lead, while Kerala aims for quick wickets to stay in contention for their maiden Ranji Trophy title.
