Johnson set the tone early, tearing through Victoria’s top order with his aggressive pace. He dismissed Josh Brown, who was caught by a diving Daniel Drew at mid-off, then bowled a sharp bouncer to Campbell Kellaway, forcing a misjudged pull that was gloved to the keeper. With Victoria struggling at 42 for 3, their captain Peter Handscomb stepped up, scoring a determined 104 off 121 balls, including some powerful boundaries and two sixes.
Supported by Jonathan Merlo (78 off 71), Handscomb led Victoria to 286/7. In response, South Australia chased down the target in just 37.4 overs. Mackenzie Harvey, who scored his maiden one-day hundred (134* off 110 balls), shared an 80-run opening stand with Alex Carey before Daniel Drew joined in.
