England against New Zealand has been going on and considering this, Kane Williamson has added another incredible achievement to his career during the third Test between the two teams. On day three, Williamson scored a brilliant 156 off 204 balls, which included 20 fours and a six. This knock helped New Zealand extend their lead to over 600 runs against England, with two days left in the match.
More importantly, Williamson achieved a historic feat that no player in the 147 years of Test cricket had accomplished before. He became the first player in history to score centuries in five consecutive Tests at the same venue, Seddon Park in Hamilton. Williamson’s five Test centuries at this venue started in 2019, including a double century against Bangladesh, a 251 against the West Indies, and a 133 not out against South Africa earlier this year.
With seven centuries at Seddon Park, he is chasing Mahela Jayawardene’s world record of 11 Test tons at a single venue. Williamson, now 34, is also close to joining the 10,000-run club, currently standing at 9,276 runs in 105 Tests.
