In the second T20I of the Pakistan tour of New Zealand in Dunedin, the hosts clinched a five-wicket win with 11 balls remaining. Pakistan, batting first in the 15-over-a-side contest, posted 135/9. Captain Salman Agha top-scored with 46 off 28 balls, hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes, while Shadab Khan added a quick 26 from 14.
Shaheen Afridi’s late cameo of 22* from 14 balls helped Pakistan reach a competitive total. Jacob Duffy and Ben Sears impressed with the ball, taking 2 wickets each, while Ish Sodhi and James Neesham also claimed two scalps apiece.
In response, New Zealand chased the target comfortably, finishing at 137/5 in just 13.1 overs. Tim Seifert was the standout performer, smashing 45 off 22 balls, including 3 fours and 5 sixes, earning him the Player of the Match award. Finn Allen provided a blistering start, scoring 38 from 16 balls at a strike rate of 237.50.
Haris Rauf was Pakistan’s most effective bowler, picking 2 wickets for 20 runs. Despite losing wickets at intervals, Mitchell Hay’s 21* ensured New Zealand crossed the line easily. Jahandad Khan, Mohammad Ali, Khushdil Shah, and Haris Rauf picked one wicket each, but Pakistan couldn’t prevent New Zealand from sealing the series.
