With IPL 2025 just days away, Mumbai Indians (MI) have appointed Bollywood icon Jackie Shroff as their “Spirit Coach” to uplift the team’s morale and bring fresh energy. Known for his Mumbai street-smart persona, Shroff’s role is expected to inspire players with his signature “Bhidu” style. His introduction video by MI showcased his motivational talk while holding a plant, subtly emphasizing his environmental activism.
The five-time IPL champions, led by Hardik Pandya, are looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2024 season which they finished at the bottom of the table. To strengthen their team spirit, MI introduced their version of Fab 5, featuring senior players: Hardik Pandya (Bhai), Suryakumar Yadav (Dada), Jasprit Bumrah (Boss), Tilak Varma (Bunty), and Rohit Sharma (Bhidu). This initiative aims to boost leadership within the squad.
MI will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign on March 24 against Lucknow Super Giants. With a renewed focus, key players, and a motivational push from their new spirit coach, MI will aim to reclaim their lost dominance.
