With the IPL 2025 approaching, the IPL Auction has now become one of the most important events in cricket for fans and franchises alike. Scheduled for November 24-25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the auction will take place at the Abadi Al Johar Arena, also known as the Benchmark Arena.
The BCCI has informed franchises that the bidding for marquee players will occur in two sets, each featuring 8-9 star players. This year, marquee players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, R Ashwin, Mitchell Starc, and Jos Buttler are among the big names in the auction list.
A total of 1,574 players have registered, including 1,165 Indians and 409 foreign players. The franchises have already spent INR 558.5 crore on retentions, and the total purse available for the auction is INR 1,200 crore. Punjab Kings have the highest remaining budget of ₹110.5 crore, making them a key player in this year’s auction. Fans eagerly await to see which players will attract the biggest bids.
