Rovman Powell started his IPL career with Delhi Capitals in 2022, playing for the team over two seasons. In the 2022 season, he impressed with 250 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate close to 150. However, his performance dipped in 2023, where he played only three games and managed to score just seven runs.
Rajasthan Royals added Rovman Powell to their squad for the 2024 IPL season. He featured in 10 matches, scoring 103 runs with an impressive strike rate of 151.47. Beyond the IPL, Powell has showcased his skills in various leagues, including the Caribbean Premier League, The Hundred, Pakistan Super League, Lanka Premier League and International League T20.
Rovman Powell is known for his power-hitting and occasional medium-pace bowling in T20 cricket. So far, he has played 256 matches in the format, scoring 4563 runs, which include a century and 17 fifties. Along with his batting achievements, he has also taken 26 wickets, making him a valuable all-rounder in the shortest format of the game.
In the IPL 2025 auction, Rovman Powell was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders for his base price of INR 1.5 crore. Known for his powerful batting and occasional bowling, Powell adds depth and experience to the team’s line-up as they aim for a strong performance in the upcoming season.
