Rohit, struggling to find his rhythm, faced a brilliant spell from Cummins, who constantly targeted the good-length area. The Indian captain’s dismissal came after a poor shot, where he loosely pushed at delivery without proper foot movement, edging it to the keeper.
This failure added to Rohit’s ongoing struggles in recent matches, as he has managed just one half-century in his last 13 innings. Despite the conditions, with Australia missing a bowler due to Josh Hazlewood’s injury, Rohit couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity. Since the beginning of the tour, Rohit has lacked confidence, and his form has been underwhelming both as a captain and a batsman.
His move down the order to accommodate KL Rahul at the top has not led to any improvement. The pressure on Rohit continues to mount as the Indian team faces further challenges in the ongoing series.
