India Women and Sri Lanka Women went against each other in their final Group stage match of the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. Both teams have been undefeated in the tournament which made this match interesting to watch, as India Women won the game by 60 runs.
Winning the toss, the Sri Lanka Women’s team decided to bowl first, as they were able to restrict India Women at a score of 118 for 9. Gongadi Trisha was the top scorer with 49 runs off 44 balls, as Pramudi Methsara, Limansa Thilakarathna, and Aseni Thalagune were able to take two wickets respectively for Sri Lanka Women.
The target seemed to be easy to chase when the Sri Lanka Women’s batters came out to the crease. But the Indian Women’s bowling line-up had some different plans, due to which they were able to restrict them at the score of 58 for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
Shabnam Md Shakil, Joshitha V J, and Parunika Sisodia were able to take up two wickets each, as Aayushi Shukla and Vaishnavi Sharma contributed with one wicket each, which helped India Women to continue their undefeated streak.
