ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Temba Bavuma to Lead South Africa in Champions Trophy 2025

For the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, South Africa has announced a 15-member squad to compete in the tournament, which will take place in Pakistan and the UAE starting February 19. The team, led by captain Temba Bavuma, is placed in Group B alongside Afghanistan, Australia, and England. South Africa’s first match is scheduled for February 21 against Afghanistan at Karachi’s National Stadium.

Key inclusions include fast bowlers Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi, who return after missing the entire home international season due to injuries. Nortje was recovering from a broken toe, while Ngidi was sidelined with a groin injury. Notably, 10 players from the 2023 World Cup squad, which reached the semifinals, are retained for this event. Additionally, Wiaan Mulder, Tony de Zorzi, and Ryan Rickelton will be making their ICC event debuts.
