With the ICC Champions Trophy scheduled for 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has relocated the upcoming ODI tri-series venues to Lahore and Karachi. Initially set to be held in Multan, the tri-series will feature Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa, with the matches starting on February 8, 2025.
The change in venues comes as the PCB focuses on completing renovations at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. The Gaddafi Stadium will be inaugurated in late January and will feature an expanded seating capacity of 35,000.
New additions include 480 LED lights and two giant digital replay screens. Similarly, Karachi’s National Bank Stadium has seen upgrades with 350 LED lights and new digital screens. Minor touch-ups are also being made to the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The PCB reassured that the renovations are progressing on schedule and that the venues will be ready before the upcoming series and the Champions Trophy.
This relocation gives the PCB a chance to showcase the improved facilities and ensure a top-notch experience for players and fans alike. The tri-series will culminate with the final on February 14, 2025.
