In the few FTP cycle, each team will play against eight other teams in the Women’s Championship. They will have four home and four away series, following the same format as the current edition. Overall, the Championship will feature 44 series, with a total of 132 ODIs, as each series will include three matches.
For their first time in the competition, Zimbabwe will host matches against Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and South Africa. For their four away series, they will travel to face New Zealand, Sri Lanka, England and the West Indies.
The 2025-2029 FTP cycle will bring more international women’s cricket in all formats, with over 400 games planned. Each year will also feature an ICC Women’s tournament. The cycle begins with the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2025, followed by the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2026, the first Women’s Championship Trophy in 2027 and another T20 World Cup in 2028.
Teams have agreed to play tri-series tournaments as preparation before major ICC events. England will host India and New Zealand for a T20I tri-series ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup, while Ireland will host Pakistan and West Indies. Sri Lanka and West Indies are set to host tri-series in 2027 and 2028.
