Gautam Gambhir Receives Death Threat from “ISIS Kashmir” After Pahalgam Attack

In the wake of the devastating Pahalgam terror attack, Gautam Gambhir, head coach of the Indian national cricket team and former BJP MP, has received chilling death threats from the group identified as “ISIS Kashmir”. According to reports from ANI, Gambhir was sent two threatening emails on April 22, one in the afternoon and another in the evening, with the message “IKillU”.

In response, he approached Delhi Police on April 23 and lodged a formal complaint at Rajinder Nagar Police Station, seeking urgent action and enhanced protection for himself and his family. The Delhi Police confirmed they are investigating the threats and noted that Gambhir is already under their security protection, although specific details were not disclosed. This is not the first time Gambhir has faced such danger. A similar threat occurred in 2021 during his tenure as an MP.

The recent threats followed Gambhir’s strong condemnation of the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 civilians lost their lives. His statement, “India will strike”, shared on X, drew national attention. Gambhir had just returned from a family vacation in France and has kept a low profile since India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 win in March.
