After the final in Ahmedabad, Dube quietly chose a simple journey back home instead of luxury travel. To avoid attention, he wore a cap, a mask, and a full-sleeve jersey so no one could recognise him. He boarded a 5 AM train from Ahmedabad to Mumbai and travelled in the 3rd AC coach, taking the upper berth. During the journey, the ticket checker even asked if Shivam Dube was on board. However, Dube’s wife quickly replied that the cricketer would never be travelling there. The ticket checker moved on, and Dube peacefully completed his journey, eventually reaching Borivali.
