BBL 2024-25: Sydney Thunder’s 4-Wicket Triumph Books Final Berth

Sydney Thunder have made it to the finals of the Big Bash League 2024-25, after defeating Sydney Sixers in the Challengers match by 4 wickets. The team won the toss and decided to field first, which came out to be a fruitful decision by the captain, leading them to the finals.

Sydney Sixers came out to bat first and set a total of 151 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Jordan Silk was the top performer for the team, with 43 runs in 30 balls, followed by Ben Dwarshuis, who was able to score 30 runs in just 20 deliveries. For Sydney Thunder, Wes Agar and Tom Andrews performed well with two wickets each, as Nathan McAndrew and George Garton grabbed one.

Chasing the target of 152, Sydney Thunder started well but lost David Warner’s wicket at the score of 29, which was followed by some quick wickets. But Sam Billings made an impressive 42 runs off 29 balls, being not out, which helped the team to win the match and also reach the finals. Nathan McAndrew also contributed with the bat, hitting the match-winning six, while scoring 19 runs off 7 balls.

Hayden Kerr, from Sydney Sixers, secured 2 wickets for the team, while Mitchell Perry, Jack Edwards, and Jafer Chohan were able to grab one each.
