In the latest controversy surrounding Pakistan’s star wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg came under fire for mocking Rizwan’s English-speaking skills. A viral video clip featured Hogg interviewing a social media influencer who impersonated Rizwan and jokingly compared him to Virat Kohli, saying, “He drinks water, I drink water. We are the same”. This was a sarcastic reference to Rizwan’s famous motivational line, “Ya to win hai ya learn hai”.
Pakistan’s rising all-rounder Aamer Jamal didn’t hold back and slammed Brad Hogg on social media, calling his actions “shameful” and accusing him of seeking attention by targeting Rizwan. Jamal sarcastically suggested Hogg should become a TikToker if he wanted followers so badly. Several Pakistani fans and ex-players also criticized Hogg, standing in support of Rizwan.
Meanwhile, Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also took a playful dig at Rizwan by imitating his English blunder, “Yes, Is A Two”, during his IPL 2025 preparation with Punjab Kings. Chahal’s light-hearted mimicry was based on a viral clip where Rizwan mistakenly uttered the phrase. Earlier, Mohammad Amir also mocked Rizwan’s leadership, comparing it to a fall from a Ferrari to a rickshaw. The incident sparked widespread debate among cricket fans.
